This Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, with ULTRA RARE Salmon dial was produced in 1996 and comes as a complete set, including boxes and paperwork (Extract).
We got quite excited about this salmon dial Royal Oak, because it’s about as beautiful as it is rare. Just a few of these Salmon dialed ref. 14790’s appeared on the market recent years. In the first half of the 90-ies the first salmon dials appeared in the Royal Oak line. Audemars Piguet confirmed they never delivered a new 14790 with a salmon dial. The story goes, a few important AP collectors have exceptionally been given the chance, to buy a salmon dial for the 14790 which they already had in their collection. Now, more or less 30 year later, this beauty is in our collection and for sale!
The 36mm stainless steel case is in superb condition. Have a look at our macro pictures and see the stunning combination of the brushed and polished surfaces.
The bracelet is very tight and a work of art in itself, it is the famous integral part of the watch's design and is meticulously crafted.
The watch case and bracelet features both brushed and polished surfaces, with the alternating finish creating a captivating interplay of light and shadow. The polished edges give the watch a sophisticated and dynamic appearance.
Audemars Piguet automatic 2225 calibre movement will be fully serviced before delivery and runs perfectly.
Because of the slim profile of the movement, Audemars Piguet could keep the total height of the case limited to just 11mm.
If you take a close look at the dial on our marco pictures, you see of course the iconic "Petite Tapisserie" pattern, but in this case perfectly integrated with it’s Salmon color. The creamy tritium filled hour markers completes the sporty, luxurious and vintage look.
Again, this watch featured the most sought-after Salmon dial, making this Royal Oak an ultra-rare AP in in a very distinguished and wearable size.
All considered, this AP is a sporty blend of tradition and avant-garde, it’s also perfect daily wearer and an interesting investment piece.
It comes with the Audemars Piguet outer box, inner box and Paperwork ‘Extract from the Archives’ confirming the date of registration November 11th 1996.
