This insane “Tropical” Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref. 14790 was sold in Munich by the famous Wempe boutique in 1995. We are fascinated with this mid-size execution of the Gérald Genta design. At 36 mm this Royal Oak is more wearable than the ‘Jumbo’, but due to its 8mm thickness it still has a civilized wrist presence, and that’s what we strive for. It wears a little bigger than the 37,5 mm Patek equivalent, The Nautilus 3800. The ‘petite tapisserie’ dial has even faded to a crazy but charming tropical brown color. The original tritium on the dial and hands is also in fantastic condition. This particular watch, is a early version of the second series of ref. 14790, recognizable for the modern “Audemars Piguet” font on the dial and the capitalised A and P logo. For the
Connaisseurs: Yes, the early 2nd series had a crown without AP-logo, and yes, the original crown without logo is still in our possession and of course within the sale of this watch. The watch returned a few months ago from a full service at Audemars Piguet, ensuring that the Jaeger-Lecoultre-designed automatic calibre 2125 is in perfect running condition. The case and integrated bracelet are in equally perfect condition due to a factory laser polish treatment. Of course this watch comes as a complete set with the original inner- and outer box, the ‘Certificat d’Origine et de Garantie’ from AP, plus service papers dating to July 2020.

Excluded from the warranty are: water damage, turn and push buttons, crystal, watch strap and clasp. Improper use or damage caused by the owner or third parties are not covered by our warranty.
All warranty claims must be directly reported to Timeless Vintage Watches. The warranty will be void if a third party worked on or opened the watch.
The warranty is non transferable and only valid to the original purchaser. With every claim the invoice or invoice number must be presented. Repairs without a valid invoice are also possible but will be made at your costs.
