About the watch

This Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, reference 15202ST, is the original jumbo size and more modern execution of thé Gérald Genta design from the 1970s. This watch was originally sold in Los Angeles in 2001 and is therefore a very early example of reference 15202.

The Royal Oak has the recognisable octagonal bezel, case and stainless steel integrated bracelet. We've assessed the condition of the whole watch and in our opinion it is unpolished. Of course the watch can be polished to perfection by the new owner upon request. Inside the stainless steel case the caliber 2121 movement is running great, which was inspected by us.

The outer-case back correctly displays the unique serial number (E41XXX) and unique case number (107), matching the original papers. As said, this particular iteration of the reference 15202 is one the very first batch and was discontinued in 2012.

This watch has the window around the date at 3 o’clock and the modern “Audemars Piguet” font on the dial and the capitalised A and P logo. The beautiful blue dial with ‘tapisserie’ is a real eye-catcher. The dial was changed by the previous owner, as the reference number of the watch indicates it was originally delivered with a white dial. The bracelet is in excellent condition, showing no signs of stretch. The folding clasp constructed with the stretched AP logo is a real functional piece of art.

This Royal Oak comes as a complete set with the Audemars Piguet box and papers.

This steel piece of art is the perfect balance between utilitarian function and elegant design. You can wear is from corporate meeting to the cocktail party, it’s got so much versatility. It suits those who like to stay under the radar without compromising on ‘high end’ collecting timepieces.
