This ultra rare stainless steel example of the “Day Date Moon Phase” was produced in 1997 and comes as a “Super Full set”, including inner- and outer box, original Paper/AP warranty booklet and the Extract from the AP archives.
The super bright blue 'Petite Tapisserie' dial is in perfect condition. The layout of the dial includes the day of the week in the English language, the date and the moon phase indicator.
During the mid 90-ies Audemars Piguet produced a few sparkling blue dials for the Ref. 25594, internal named ‘lacquered sapphire’.
The watch community adopted this dial color as the “Yves Klein Dial”, named after the French artist of the ‘Nouveau Réalisme’, who registered the recipe for this paint color under the name IKB (International Klein Blue).
The bracelet and case is in fantastic condition with very small signs of use.
The production of the 36 mm sized case is a great move by AP in terms of aesthetics, balance and it increases the overall wearability of the watch.
The AP finish is the best in the industry with the typical alternating satin brushed finish and mirror polished chamfers and edges.
The case has no correctors on each side of the case for adjustment of the calendar, it can be all set with the screw-down crown with “AP” logo signed.
The bracelet is also a work of art on its own and is fitted with the folding deployant clasp.
All considered, this AP is not only a ultra rare grail watch, it’s also perfect daily wearer and an interesting investment piece.
It comes as a “super full set” including inner- and outer box, original Paper/AP warranty booklet and the Extract from the AP archives confirming the register date of April 16th 1997.
