Patek Philippe Calatrava “Limited Edition” ref. 5000G

The almost 30 year old White gold 34mm case of this Patek has of course some small signs of use and is in exceptional good condition. It breaths class and style and is of course perfectly finished.

This Ref. 5000G is part of a 5,000-piece limited-edition release, of which only 500 are white gold. With a case size of 34mm, the Ref. 5000G is wears at least 2-3mm larger than its dimensions would suggest, because of the elongated lugs.

The strap is fitted with a beautiful 18k white gold deployant clasp that bears the Patek Philippe Calatrava Cross, which could be seen as an independent jewel.

The dial is in perfect condition and has a train-track style minute track, which is echoed around the small seconds sub-dial placed on the 4 o’clock index marker. The Arabic numerals on this 5000G have a modern feel - despite its almost 30 year old age - which are printed in white for ease of legibility and a lot of contrast.

The example we offer wears the Calibre 240PS (Petite Seconde), this movement is recently fully checked by our watchmaker and runs very good. This high quality movement is “ultra thin” and is of course visible through the transparent case back. This rhodium plated movement is produced in 3000 examples starting with no. 800'000 ending with no. 802.999 and has the famous micro-rotor, 27 jewels, with free sprung regulator and Gyromax balance (21’600 alt/h). Looking at this interplay under a magnifying glass with sufficient light never gets boring, a village in itself.

The watch comes as a full set and is complete with: “Certificat d’ Origine” stamped 23 March 1993, Brown Patek Philippe document folder, Patek inner box, Patek outer box, Application form for “The register of Patek Philippe Owners”, Booklet with “Distributors, official gents”, printed 10-’92, Booklet with instructions about the watch, printed ’92. In short, a complete and period correct full set.
