This vintage Rolex Datejust was produced in 1979 and has reference 1601. The watch is in overall great condition. The stainless steel oyster watch case measures 36mm and is in good condition. The watch is fitted on the original folded bracelet with matching endlinks, the clasp is a later replacement. The brushing on the lugs is nice and even and the edges remained sharp. The silver linen pie-pan dial is in great condition. It's a no lume dial made especially for the asian market. The hour markers are made from 18kt white gold and are applied on the dial. The white gold fluted bezel is in good condition. The cal. 1570 automatic movement was recently serviced and runs great.

A BIT OF HISTORY
Rolex created the flagship datejust in 1945, in celebration of the brands 40th Anniversary. It was the first self-winding wristwatch with a date window on the dial. Together with the Datejust, Rolex also created the iconic 5-piece Jubilee bracelet. On the 10th anniversary of the Datejust the magnifying lens - so called cyclop lens - was introduced. Since the introduction the Datejust has become one of the most popular watches from Rolex. The Datejust has all the characteristics a Rolex is known for. The iconic two-piece screw-down Oyster case was the first waterproof case for a wristwatch that was serially produced in 1926

The warranty includes the functioning of the watch including the functioning of any present complications. Each watch is in properly working condition and is carefully checked and/or serviced by our professional team before shipment. Please keep in mind that vintage watches need to be treated with reasonable care by their owners.
Excluded from the warranty are: water damage, turn and push buttons, crystal, watch strap and clasp. Improper use or damage caused by the owner or third parties are not covered by our warranty.
All warranty claims must be directly reported to Timeless Vintage Watches. The warranty will be void if a third party worked on or opened the watch.
The warranty is non transferable and only valid to the original purchaser. With every claim the invoice or invoice number must be presented. Repairs without a valid invoice are also possible but will be made at your costs.
