This vintage Rolex Datejust has reference 1601 and was produced in 1970. Making this beauty more than 50 years old. The watch is in overall great condition and the automatic cal. 1570 is just serviced and has 2 year warranty. The 36mm stainless steel case is in great sharp condition. The folded jubilee bracelet is the original bracelet for this watch with matching endlinks and cool big logo clasp. It shows only small signs of stretch and wear. The dial is in good condition, with a small paintchip at the 11 hour marker. Applied on the dial are 18k white gold hour markers. The white gold fluted bezel is near perfect with just a few very tiny scratches.

A BIT OF HISTORY
Rolex created the flagship datejust in 1945, in celebration of the brands 40th Anniversary. It was the first self-winding wristwatch with a date window on the dial. Together with the Datejust, Rolex also created the iconic 5-piece Jubilee bracelet. On the 10th anniversary of the Datejust the magnifying lens - so called cyclop lens - was introduced. Since the introduction the Datejust has become one of the most popular watches from Rolex. The Datejust has all the characteristics a Rolex is known for. The iconic two-piece screw-down Oyster case was the first waterproof case for a wristwatch that was serially produced in 1926.
