The watch is in overall good honest condition and was serviced last year. The case has been polished in the past and is in good condition. The rare grey "pie-pan" dial with white printing is in good condition, with most of the original tritium lume dots still intact, matching perfectly with the tritium hands. A BIT OF HISTORY
Rolex created the flagship datejust in 1945, in celebration of the brands 40th Anniversary. It was the first self-winding wristwatch with a date window on the dial. Together with the Datejust, Rolex also created the iconic 5-piece Jubilee bracelet. On the 10th anniversary of the Datejust the magnifying lens - so called cyclop lens - was introduced. Since the introduction the Datejust has become one of the most popular watches from Rolex. The Datejust has all the characteristics a Rolex is known for. The iconic two-piece screw-down Oyster case was the first waterproof case for a wristwatch that was serially produced in 1926.
