This Rolex Submariner reference 1680 dates back to 1973. It is powered by the automatic caliber 1570, which was fully serviced and is running perfect. The watch is in stunning condition. It has a perfect matte black mark 5 dial with beautifully aged original tritium. The tritium is eggshell colored under cool light but once the sun hits the dial it turns a beautiful warm color. The real eye-catcher of the dial is ofcourse the "submariner" text which is written in red. The dial and hands match nicely in patina. The datewheel is the original one with open 6 and 9. The pearl in the bezel is also original tritium and could be the original for this watch. The case of the watch is very thick and was lightly polished to be in perfect condition. There are no visible signs of wear. The bezel insert is clean, with some very minor marks from wearing it over the last 50 years. Fitted to the case is a newer style solid bracelet with random claspcode (CP), giving the secure feeling of a modern watch so you can wear this Submariner with peace of mind. This bracelet is in great condition with virtually no stretch. Between the lugs both the reference number and serial number are clearly readable. The watch is finished off with a clean and crisp plexiglass.
