One of the dial types from Rolex we really like is the linen dial. Today we’re diving a little deeper in the textured Linen dial.
One of the most fun parts of vintage Rolex are all the little details that set one watch apart from the other. Details like materials, surface finishing, bezel types and of course dials types. One of the dial types we really like is the linen dial. Today we’re diving a little deeper in the textured Linen dial.
Of all the vintage textured Rolex dials we think the most iconic and timeless dial is the linen dial. It’s named after the structure of woven linen fabrics, the crosshatched scratched surface finish looks like the fabric. The linen dials are made in four different color variants. Silver, champagne, anthracite and blue. Silver and champagne are most frequently used and the anthracite and blue are more rare.
Linen dials were used in Rolex Datejust, Day-Date and Oyster Perpetual watches. And ranging from stainless steel models to 18K yellow- and white gold.
Light catching wonders. You have to see a linen dial in real life to truly see it’s full beauty. They are little wonders that manage to catch and reflect light in a stunning way. A vintage Rolex with a linen dial is just a little bit more special and will never get boring.
