The IWC Ingenieur was introduced in the mid 1950s and is a notable collection from the International Watch Company (IWC), known for its robust design and engineering prowess.

It was designed to meet the needs of professionals, particularly engineers and scientists, hence the name "Ingenieur," which is German for engineer.

The distinguishing feature of the early IWC Ingenieur models was their anti-magnetic capabilities. Given the increasing use of magnetic fields in various industries, IWC created a timepiece that could withstand magnetic interference. The Ingenieur is equipped with a soft-iron inner case to protect the movement from magnetic fields.

This Ingenieur has an automatic movement and runs like it should, on request a full movement service is possible before delivery. The automatic movement was a technological advancement that days, eliminating the need for manual winding and providing convenience for daily wear.

The dial is in fantastic vintage condition and is characterized by a clean and legible design. The emphasis was on functionality, with luminous markers and hands for enhanced visibility in various conditions.

This particular watch case is executed in beautiful patinated yellow gold. The original IWC Ingenieur watches from the 1950s had a relatively limited production run, contributing to their collectibility and desirability among vintage watch enthusiasts.
